Level Twenty Seven members Claire Schneider and Mei Ying Barnes will be providing a CLE session at the Gold Coast District Law Association (GCDLA) at the beginning of 2019. The topic will be ‘Raising the Bar for Businesses: the ACL’s reach in business negotiations and brand protection‘ and will discuss the ACL’s role in regulating commercial negotiations and business practices, including:
- unconscionable conduct under written law
- developments in the law of unconscionable conduct under s 22 of the ACL
- misleading and deceptive conduct in the context of negative online reviews
- causation issues where misleading conduct is made through a third party
